Portugal officially designated as a Treaty Nation with the US.

Effective December 15, 2022, Portugal officially designated as a Treaty Nation with the US.  Citizens of Portugal are now eligible for E treaty visa pursuant to the Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 (H.R. 7776/NDAA). Section 5901 of the Act also requires individuals who have acquired citizenship through financial investment to have domiciled in that country for “a continuous period of not less than 3 years at any point before applying for an E nonimmigrant visa” exempting investors who already hold E visas.  Want to learn more?  Contact Accel Visa Attorneys for more information about Treaty investor visas.
